I was already familiar with D&G, the first ever perfume from Dolce&Gabbana, a feminine floral aldehyde introduced in 1994, when my aunt presented it to me at the beginning of this year, as her new acquisition. After this episode, I decided to write a couple of things about it.
D&G brings a classic, feminine and intense aroma to the perfumery fields, through its combination of numerous ingredients that generate a very pleasant aroma. As the initial creation of the famous Italian fashion house, the structure of D&G is built around contrasts: sugary and sour, feminine and masculine.
D&G opens on a pungent mix of bergamot, mandarin, orange, neroli and lemon, with a whiff of aldehydes. Later, as the development phase takes place, you are greeted in the mid development by a combination of spices and floral accords, which includes: cardamom, pepper, natural laveder, sage, tarragon. For the base, you will perceive the warm notes of white musk, Tonka Bean, cumarin, cedar and iris juxtaposed by the association with sandalwood and tobacco.
The description from the official website mentions that D&G “is a perfume which becomes part of oneself, the expression of one’s own feeling”. The bottle that holds the fragrance is manufactured from transparent glass, revealing a pale yellow liquid topped by a transparent red cap and a glossy golden ribbon in the upper rim. The chosen chromatic is aimed at revealing the sensual nature in a woman. The video commercial, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, captures the essence of passion, featuring the Italian actress and fashion model Monica Bellucci, in a black of white short film that transmits pure sensuality. Overall, D&G from Dolce&Gabbana (or called simply D&G Classic) is the perfect Eau de Toilette for a woman who feels good into her skin and has the audacity to show it.
