Davidoff Adventure Amazonia is a flanker to 2008’s Davidoff Adventure. Introduced in February 2009 as a limited edition, this woody aromatic fragrance was reportedly inspired by the region of Amazon as “one of the most breathtaking places in the world.” Aimed at the man who possesses an innate taste thirst for adventure, Adventure Amazonia represents a fresher edition of the original scent.
I sampled Adventure Amazonia at the time of its introduction just to make an opinion, not because I was a fan of the first edition. The exotic ingredients are what separate this edition from a total ordinary perfume, however, taking into account the chosen theme and the circumstances, I would have expected more from it.
The first accords in Adventure Amazonia represent a mix of mate leaves and citruses, like an energetic shot that prepares you for the road. Then, as the road takes you deeper and further in the heart of this rainforest, the special feature of this place (the moisture) becomes obvious. Heart notes are embodied by palm tree leaf, moist notes and spices after which, the dry down is the time when you will be able to perceive the essence of this amazing journey: the aroma of Peruvian cedarwood.
Adventure Amazonia comes in a bottle that is a re-interpretation of the original flask, this time the glass being ice-cool frosted, while the color of the liquid is a little bit softer. Instead of the silver metal upper part, the name of the fragrance is printed with orange letters, under which the following phrase can be read: “Limited edition. For true adventurers.”
