Intense Instinct is the first flanker to 2005’s Instinct, a fragrance which remains a best seller for Beckham fragrances. Introduced in April 2007 as an aromatic fruity fragrance, Intense Instinct is meant to be a more powerful version of the original, a characteristic suggested from the outset, by the selected red color scheme.
In spite of my initial reserve, I must say that I liked Instinct at the time of its launch (evidently, not enough for generating me a buying impulse, but anyway!), therefore two years later, I sampled this new iteration with a different point of view. Like in the first case, the conclusion is that this is a well done fragrance (given that it comes with a fairly reasonable price) that emphasizes on the fresh spicy accords to generate a perfume that’s worth a shot.
Intense Instinct opens on a heady exotic blend, in which the ginger are lemon are the most prominent accords, later comes floral spicy heart that last for about one hour and a half, and after this period everything dries down to a woody base, in which an evident aroma of musk is perceived.
The listed top notes for Intense Instinct are tropical melon, ginger and lemon; its heart is cedar leaf, coriander and violet; and its base notes are teakwood, white cedar and musk.
The fragrance is fronted (naturally) by David Beckham and on the image level, the shape of Instinct’s flacon was preserved, however this time comes with a modified shade (transparent bright red color versus the transparent glass of Instinct), while the packaging box sports a very stylish combination of black (in the upper part) and red (the inferior part).
