Chopard, the manufacturer of jewelry, luxury watches and accessories based in Switzerland and established in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard at the age of 24, focused initially on developing accurate pocket watches and chronometers starting from original ideas. Subsequent to gaining public appreciation and 132 years later, in the year 1992, Chopard teamed up with the world’s largest cosmetic and beauty company, L’Oreal for developing high quality perfumes under the renowned Chopard brand.
After seven years of this collaboration’s debut, Chopard already introduced a classic. Wish is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women introduced in 1999 and developed by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. The concept behind Wish is found in the area of jewelry, the familiar domain for Chopard. The scent is regarded as a commodity rare to find, featured in a fantastic commercial that mixes special effects with simple images, for transmitting powerful emotions. This object of desire is presented in a bottle designed by Fabrice Legros, who managed to create a work of art that looks like some stylish jewelry, having the glass cut in the shape of a diamond, the 2 metallic rings close to the stopper, over which there are engraved the perfume’s name and the house, and the attached small loop that turns the bottle into a large pendant.
The accords employed for the construction of Wish are chic enough to offer a very pleasant final product. The opening is infused with sparkling freshness of black currant, pear, living Chinese goose berry and Japanese yuzu. The middle notes come as a floral bouquet with notes of patchouli, jasmine, magnolia and living osmanthus flower. Finally, the dry down combines voluptuous sensuality embodied by elegant incense, warm amber, sweet vanilla, toffee and Tonka bean.
