I remember Casran as something that happened long time ago, a period in which I was not such crazy about perfumes. It was the year 2000, soon after its launch and I was planning to purchase it as soon as I come up with the money. Unfortunately, this thing never happened, but I still recall its sweet, fresh and clean aroma.
Chopard Casran belongs to the woody floral musk olfactory group and was developed by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. The fragrance could be described as an eternal classic that bears the touch of the Swiss jewelry and watchmaker. Too bad that it became so hard to get by these days, as I did not noticed many Casran scents in Sephora or Douglas lately; anyway I’ll ask about their latest release, last year’s Noble Cedar.
Returning to Casran, this fragrance is built around the special aroma of anise, combining the fresh spicy with woody accords, to result a fragranced that’s ideal in any occasion. The perfume begins on a daring combination of lemon, lavender, birch leaf and nutmeg. Then, in about 20 minutes the top notes are replaced by its heart, which include geranium, rose, anise and tarragon. The scent has a pleasant development on the skin, during which you will feel a refreshing sensation. Much later, in a couple of hours, Casran enters the dry down stage, during which it shifts to a warmer and more personal facet, thanks to the combination of cedar, vanilla, amber and sandalwood.
The bottle that holds Casran has an unusual shape that looks like a sculpted block of transparent glass, while the colorless liquid brings to mind the purity of the essential liquid: water. Overall, Casran is the type of clean fragrance that works fine for a day to day use in the office.
