Allure Sensuelle is a flanker to the iconic Allure, one of the few perfumes which I love both in the feminine and its masculine version. Arrived on the market in September 2005 and developed by Chanel’s house perfumer Jacques Polge, Allure Sensuelle is an oriental floral built around “six facets” as it was mentioned in the official press release.
According to Laurie Palma, Senior Vice President Fragrance Olfactive Development at Chanel, the six “facets” were oriental, fresh, floral, fruity, woody and spicy, and the most important notes that were added to this composition, pink pepper and patchouli, “make Allure Sensuelle a little younger and edgier”.
Moreover, on the official website, the description mentions that “four of the six facets of Allure (Fresh, Timeless, Woody and Fruity) have been reworked to take on fuller and sweeter accents that are all the more delicious and mysterious.”
From the olfactory point of view, the dominant accord in Allure Sensuelle is represented by the oriental facet, which includes a blend of vanilla, patchouli and amber. Furthermore, the sophisticated mysterious Eastern feature, comes courtesy of the final phase, which brings forward a warm and spicy facet. Additional listed notes include mandarin, jasmine, vetiver and incense (frankincense).
Face of the advertising campaign is the French actress Anna Mouglalis, while the flacon that contains Allure Sensuelle replicates the silhouette of its iconic predecessor, adorned this time with a purple shade, exhibited by the stopper and the perfume’s name on the bottle, in order to evoke sensuality.
