Presented to the public in April 2009, Spring in Provence is a new limited edition fragrance from Celine Dion, described as a floral fruity with green accents. The source of inspiration that shaped this scent is easily derived from the brief description of the press release: “Provence in the spring… a magical journey for the senses. The warmth radiating from the hills in the golden light. Floods of amazing colorful flowers coming into bloom and inviting you to share their smile”.
As a result, the perfumer Ilias Ermenidis, from Firmenich, in charge with the process of development, managed to re-create the aroma of nature coming to life. The flacon that holds Spring in Provence was developed by Ken Hurst and is made from transparent glass which reveals the pastel green color of the liquid, a color scheme meant to evoke the shade of meadows during the Provence spring. The packaging box was designed by Marc Rosen Associates, creators of fragrance packaging and features a famous theme in Provence, which is lavender fields and red poppy flowers, painted on the cardboard.
The olfactory structure of Spring in Provence is comparable to a bouquet of flowers, set in perfect harmony. The opening brings forward aromas of bergamot, passion fruit and spicy coriander, followed quite rapidly by a heart that includes a blend made from mimosa absolute, honeysuckle, fig blossom and violet. The final phase encompasses enchanting accords of ambrette and the instantly recognizable notr of vetiver, this time swathed in a sensual musk note, in order to leave a memorable trail on the skin.
