The Canadian singer Celine Dion entered the perfumery business in 2003, by creating a partnership with Coty, for a line of products inspired by her personal emotions. The first outcome of this collaboration, Celine Dion Parfum, arrived on the market in March 2003, as a floral fruity developed by perfumer Patricia Bilodeau.
On the official website, the description mentions that “Celine Dion Parfum tells a story of love and triumph that is both heartfelt and universal”. Since I’m not a fan of Celine Dion (to tell you the truth, I would rather not listening to her in any circumstance!), I tried to maintain open mind, while sampling her perfume.
And I cannot say that it was an easy job, given that Celine Dion Parfum is the type of everyday common scent that smells quite common compared to every other celebrity fragrance. The first accords of Celine Dion Parfum offer a blend of fruits and flowers, embodied by accords of red berry, violet and Lily-of-the-Valley. Then, the scent advances quickly into mid development, dominated by soft floral notes: jasmine, orange blossom, tiaré (Tahitian gardenia) and yellow rose. The dry down kicks off with notes of blonde woods, musk, amber and sandalwood.
Celine Dion Parfum comes in a transparent glass bottle with rectangular shape; the color of the liquid is yellow and the stopper has a metallic look. The fragrance received the 2004’s FiFi Award in the category “Woman’s Fragrance of the Year – Popular Appeal” and one more interesting detail is that the launch date corresponded with her big success called “A New Day…”.
