Her debut in the world of fragrance happened after a couple of years, in 1988, with Carolina Herrera, a fragrance for women. CH Men is an oriental spicy fragrance for men, introduced in 2009. “Life is a journey, CH Men is its essence” declared Carolina Herrera Jr. and you will understand this meaning upon coming in contact with the scent. The masculine counterpart of CH from 2007 represents the ideal perfume for an active man, with an image structured on “a journey to experience new sensations, to meet new people and discover new places”.
I had the chance to sample CH Men on my skin only last year, but it was worth the wait. It is that kind of fragrance for the stylish and refined man that separates you from the crowd. The opening is aromatic and invigorating at the same time, in a mixture of citrus, violet and cut grass. In the mid development, the creators imagined a combination of spiciness and floral, with saffron, nutmeg, jasmine and vetiver. And the well-designed dry down encompasses a rich blend of sandalwood, vanilla, suede and leather.
The bottle is elegant and decorated with a material which is colored in chocolate-brown and has the consistency of leather, with the logo CH applied all over it. For introducing a hint of sophistication, a red ribbon with metallic CH initials was attached to the leather. This constructed image brings to mind a suitcase; the video advertisement focuses on the same details that defined the Carolina Herrera brand over the years: chic and exquisite.
