Fragrance Review

Probably you can think of more than one situation in which you ended up buying a different perfume than the one you wished for and for me, the first accident was Amor pour Homme. It was a sunny and hot morning of August 2007 and I was in the ’s , searching to buy 2 perfumes that would have ended beautifully my Tunisian vacation. After browsing for some minutes, I selected Baldessarini Ambré, which was familiar and still belongs to my favorite list and Amor pour Homme, which was indeed an uninspired decision. I don’t know if it was because of the hot day, or the fact that I was puzzled by the bottle, but take into account that as I was looking at the newly launched, at that time, for Him, and I decided for Amor pour Homme instead.

After that, I experienced 2 other accidents, one that happened one year later and involved a much larger airport and one in my preferred location, but I will tell you all at its time. The fact is that I was obviously fascinated by the top notes of Amor, sufficiently to convince me into purchasing it. And since Amor pour Homme was a relatively fresh scent, I thought it was a good idea.

Launched in 2006 and created by perfumers and , Amor pour Homme is a woody spicy scent that could be categorized as common. The opening is citric with notes of bergamot, and tea; the heart follows with rose, cardamom and aromatis spices, and finally, the base consists of , vetiver, benzoin and tonka bean. The top is dominated by the aromatic tea, rose is predominant in the middle and was mainly employed for the end.

The bottle looks more feminine than masculine, with curved shapes in the extremities and a stopper that might be better off, because it hinders you more than it is useful. This scent from lacks personality and is above all predictable. The idea of love associated with Amor pour Homme is something that needed more creative effort.
