The way in which By Kilian conceives the elaborate stories behind every new launch makes me extremely keen over testing the particular fragrance, but until now it seems that their perfumes do not match my skin. This comes as an outcome of the fact that I never liked any one sufficiently to inspire me an acquisition thought.
Incense Oud, the third addition to the Arabian Nights collection is an oriental spicy unisex fragrance, developed by perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur. The scent was launched in 2011 and ever since I read about it, I wanted to see how it will develop on my skin. My conclusion will leave room for interpretations. Admittedly, this is an excellent perfume based on incense for your collection however it is not yet the By Kilian perfume that I would buy. Thus, I’m looking forward to their upcoming launches.
The whole structure of Incense Oud is built around incense, which makes a 25% from all the ingredients, according to the official statements. As a result, the beginning of the scent is a spicy soft floral blend of pink pepper, cardamom, Turkish rose and geranium. Then, in no more than 20 minutes the heart is revealed in a mysterious combination of Indian papyrus, patchouli and Virginia cedar. The base is dominated by incense which leaves a very pleasant trail, juxtaposed by the other listed ingredients: sandalwood, oakmoss, French labdanum and white musk.
Incense Oud comes in the classic black bottle that became a trademark of By Kilian creations, except the plaque this time with the scent’s and brand’s name which is golden this time. The other interesting part of this presentation refers to the packaging box (also a regular of By Kilian), having the shape of a chest with lock and key.
