BLV Eau d’Ete arrived on the market in February 2010 with the clear intention of Bvlgari to gear this product to a young clientele. Similar to an aroma of Mediterranean air, BLV Eau d’Ete is a floral woody musk and also a flanker to the popular 2000’s BLV, which received in 2009, one more flanker, called BLV II.
I was a fan of both BLV Notte Pour Femme and Pour Homme, and in spite of the fact that today I do not feel represented by these fragrances, every perfume that employs this color scheme and comes from Bvlgari constitutes a point of interest for me. As a result, with more than 2 years ago, I sampled BLV Eau d’Ete, of course with the precious help of my wife.
At first, since I was not sure whether it will be worth a try or not, I sprayed a couple of whiffs on a Sephora blotter. Then, after feeling quite pleased with the outcome, I decided to apply the perfume also on my wife’s wrist. Subsequent to the test, my conclusion is that, in spite of its freshness, I would rather stick to the classics, BLV and BLV Notte respectively.
BLV Eau d’Ete starts off with a refreshing blend in which the notes of mint and Italian lemon play the major part. Then, as these top notes fade away, a warm and floral heart is unveiled thanks to the aroma of amber, coupled with iris and cinnamon. The dry down is bringing forward the unmistakable note of benzoin, joined by musk and fir balsam.
The flacon that contains BLV Eau d’Ete represents Bvlgari’s signature bottle, a reinterpretation of the one from BLV II, made from transparent soft blue glass and topped by an elegant stopper.
