Introduced in 2009, BLV Eau de Parfum II is the sequel of the popular fragrance BLV, “an elegant jewel of glass and light in a unique object of design”, as described on the official website. This oriental woody feminine fragrance was developed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier as a re-interpretation of the blue shade, with a modern touch. The scent will please the young and chic woman, who enjoys nothing but the best in her life.
As a fan of the original BLV, I insisted that my wife would test the fragrance, taking into account that it could have been interesting. Following this test, I concluded that BLV Eau de Parfum II is a pleasant scent, however the well-behaved type which is not offering much with respect to innovation.
BLV Eau de Parfum II starts off with a combination of violet, star anise, liquorice and frosted mandarin. As the perfume enters mid development, the floral facet is unveiled, thank to the combined accords of Lily-of-the-Valley, jasmine, vetiver, Texas cedar and patchouli. For the dry down, the creator imagined the ambergris note alongside labdanum, which is juxtaposed to the unmistakable aroma of benzoin and musk.
The bottle that holds BLV Eau de Parfum II remains faithful to the Bvlgari’s classic style, is made from transparent glass, revealing a soft blue shaded liquid, everything topped by an elegant silver stopper adorned with the brand’s logo on top. Overall, BLV Eau de Parfum II is appropriate for the charismatic woman who likes jewelry and is characterized by elegance.
