Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Toniq is a flanker to 2005’s Aqva Pour Homme, a fragrance that benefited from a huge popularity at the moment of its release. The new scent was introduced in 2011, belongs to the aromatic aquatic olfactory group and was developed by famous perfumer Jacques Cavallier. On the official website, the description of the fragrance mentions the phrase “a concentrate of freshness crystallized in a drop of AQVA – for all moments to boost energies” and you might feel confused over a new fragrance from Bvlgari that selected (again!) one of the most prevalent natural elements as its theme.
Fortunately, Aqva Pour Homme Toniq has a pleasant structure that makes it suitable for the spring and summer days. I should confess that I did not offer any chance to the original Aqva from the very start, because I considered its bottle ugly and lacking masculinity. Lately, my opinions have changed and I am now regarding the series Aqva as something more interesting compared to its beginnings.
Like with its previous editions, the composition of Aqva Pour Homme Toniq relies on a limited number of raw materials, which is not necessarily a good thing. For this particular situation the fragrance opens with a blend of Sicilian lemon and peppermint essence, meant to keep alert all your senses. Within a couple of minutes (no more than 20!), Aqva Pour Homme Toniq turns aquatic, due to the aroma of Posidonia frozen water employed for shaping the heart of this scent. Subsequent to approximately 4 hours, you will be able to detect the presence of base notes, in a combination of vetiver and warm amber that brings a personal touch to the composition.
The bottle that encloses Aqva Pour Homme Toniq preserves the innovative shape of water drop, this time being presented with a little modified color scheme. Overall, Aqva Pour Homme Toniq is an interesting fragrance that completed its target: a re-interpretation of the water theme.
