Fragrance Review
A fragrance introduced by Burberry in 2010, Sport for Men is a woody aromatic olfactory experience, developed by a trio of perfumers: Sonia Constant, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu. The scent is aimed at the contemporary youngsters and steps on the trail of sporty fragrances launched during the latest years: Dior Homme Sport, Givenchy Play Sport and Chanel Allure Homme Sport. Burberry Sport for Men was presented alongside its feminine counterpart and represents an extension to the sports line of the famous British house, which features clothing, bags and accessories.
The olfactory pyramid of this fragrance was built around simple ingredients an aspect reflected by the energizing, unpretentious character of the final result. Burberry Sport for Men begins with a blend of ginger and wheat, which is followed in half an hour by a heart dominated by juniper berries and sea water. Later, subsequent to a couple of hours, the dry down reveals the woody facet, in a combination of white musk, warm amber and Virginia cedar. I sampled Burberry Sport for Men last year and my conclusion is that this is a well-behaved fragrance, ideal for the young man who wishes to add a touch of class to his style.
The bottle that holds the fragrance features a rectangular shape with a disproportionate stopper that tops the transparent glass colored in red. The package is associated with a removable bracelet made from red rubber, engraved with the words “Burberry”. The models employed for the advertising campaign were the English actor Douglas Booth and British model Lily Donaldson, having the scenery of London as background and wearing garments from the Burberry Sport line.
