Winner of the 2005’s FiFi Award in the category “Me’s Fragrance of the Year – Luxe”, Burberry Brit for Men is an oriental woody fragrance, developed by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu from Givaudan. The perfume arrived on the market in 2004, being a representation of the contemporary British spirit.
The launch was painstakingly prepared, and Christopher Bailey, the Chief Creative Officer of Burberry selected Peruvian fashion photographer Mario Testino to be responsible with the art department, while the design of the flask and packaging box was commissioned to the French art director and magazine editor Fabien Baron.
The result: a fragrance imbued with character, presented in a bottle that replicates the iconic Burberry’s signature pattern, in a black and white color scheme conveying the viewer elegance and style. Adorning the case, a replica of a garment label in white hue is showcasing the name of the fragrance.
The structure of Burberry Brit for Men makes use of exotic ingredients, shaped in order to obtain a maximum effect. The beginning represents a mix of spices and citruses represented by ginger and cardamom with bergamot and green mandarin. When I tested the fragrance I perceived a distinct accord of bergamot at this phase. Later, as the scent advances slowly into the mid development, an affluent heart filled with wild rose note, cedarwood and nutmeg is revealed. Subsequent to a couple of hours, Burberry Brit for Men dried down to an elegant base of grey musk and Tonka bean.
Overall, Burberry Brit for Men is a scent for a distinguished man, who adopts a classic fashion style and adds this perfume as his exquisite accessory.
