Hugo Boss has always been, in my opinion, a benchmark for the masculine style, promoting the type of fashion that relies on classic elegance for conveying something more than an imposing attitude. Apart from the fact that its German DNA proved to be a convincing argument for men during the past couple of years (after a period of buying my jeans exclusively from Ralph Lauren, then Tommy Hilfiger, 2 years ago in spring, I finally settled for Hugo Boss, Black Label, as the cut that suited me the most!), I was an abiding admirer of their fragrances, especially the Baldessarini line.
Sadly, this division was sold to Mäurer & Wirtz in 2011, but they still continue to produce excellent scents (I can’t wait to sniff Secret Mission!). And taking into account this background in masculine perfumery, a feminine creation was needed, in order to match what was already available on the market.
As a result, in July 2012, Boss Nuit Pour Femme was launched, reportedly “inspired by the little black dress”. As a floral fragrance which was aimed at young stylish women (hence the famous face employed for the image, the American actress and singer Gwyneth Paltrow) Boss Nuit Pour Femme began its evolution with great expectations and the prospects appear to be promising.
I sampled Boss Nuit Pour Femme with my wife, more than a month ago, and in spite of the fact that I did not discovered an outstanding olfactory creation, I consider it a perfectly wearable fragrance that deserves the attention. The floral facet is available in it from the start until Boss Nuit Pour Femme fades away and I should mention that the aroma of peach and the hints of violet are in the right dosage, so that to arouse your interest. Later in the dry down, a musky woody character proves to be the appropriate combination to conclude with this feminine perfume.
The official listed notes for Boss Nuit Pour Femme encompass: aldehydes, peach, white flowers, jasmine, violet, moss and sandalwood. The packaging box and the bottle feature an all black color scheme, interrupted by the writings on the box that appear in white, and the transparent cap that contrasts with the dark nuance. The spraying mechanism and the superior edge of the flacon are golden, this rim being also the area over which the name of the brand is visible. As a mentioned earlier, Gwyneth Paltrow appears in the video commercial, wearing a chic outfit, based exactly on the source of inspiration for this perfume.
Overall, I’ll say that Boss Nuit Pour Femme qualifies for a test, therefore be nosy for more than once!
