Visit for Men is a woody spicy fragrance, introduced in 2003 and geared at the young generation, a man who perceives the city as his natural environment. The scent was developed by perfumer Annick Menardo and is built around accords of incense and cedar, which appear as dominant in the mid development phase.
The first time that I sampled Visit was soon after its launch, a period of time in which I was in search of something from Azzaro, because I was fascinated by the brand. After testing it, I considered that I liked the aroma of Visit for Men, however I decided for the iconic Azzaro Pour Homme, a perfume that has been on 2 occasions in my wardrobe. Meanwhile, my attraction for the brand staled but, in spite of that, these 2 fragrances remain as a reference in my mind.
Visit for Men has a structure that begins on a tart combination of pink pepper, nutmeg and cardamom, juxtaposed, after no more than 20 minutes, to a woody blend of Guaiac wood, blue cedar of Lebanon and incense. After a couple of hours, the scent takes its time and evolves into a musky base composed from ambergris and musk. The creation of Annick Menardo represents the perfect example of a young classic, unbound by conventions.
The bottle that holds Visit for Men is meant to evoke the prow of a ship, according to the imagination of the designer Federico Restrepo. The flask exhibits a very modern look, in which the combination of transparent glass, the sea shaded blue of the liquid and the metallic stopper make an original apparition. An interesting touch is that, in order to spray the liquid you have to press the cap, exactly like employing a lighter.
