Azzaro Pour Homme is one of my favorite fragrances, a classic which is never outdated and on top of that this represents a scent that had been on 2 different occasions in my wardrobe (fist time due to an acquisition, second time as a gift). Having this in mind, it was simply normal to be anxious, the first time when I read about a new product from Azzaro, in August 2009.
Azzaro pour Homme Elixir was introduced one month later, in September 2009, as a flanker to 1978’s Azzaro pour Homme. This oriental woody masculine fragrance was developed by perfumer Michel Girard, having the words virility and seduction as the main sources of inspiration. Compared to the aromatic fougere character of the original creation, this scent turned to woody, which appears to be in line with the contemporary male taste.
The opening of Azzaro pour Homme Elixir is a heady blend of fruits that is perceived very pleasant on the skin. Top notes are mandarin orange, lemon, bergamot and pear. Then, as the time passes, in approximately 20 minutes, the mid development turns spicy. The heart is shaped from spices, geranium and lavender. Moving onto the final phase, we discover a warm combination of Tonka bean, coumarin, benzoin, French labdanum, sweet vanilla and oakmoss.
Azzaro pour Homme Elixir comes in a bottle that replicates the shape of the original, however with a modified color scheme that ranges from deep red shade to almost black. The packaging box exhibits the same chromatic. Azzaro pour Homme Elixir has a more than interesting character, which will please men of all ages.
