As a flanker to Chrome, launched in 1996, Chrome Legend arrived on the market in 2007, as an aromatic fruity fragrance, developed by perfumers Christophe Raynaud and Olivier Pescheux. With a source of inspiration coming from the sea and the shipbuilding design, the fragrance delivers a more refreshing and masculine character.
I have nothing against Chrome Legend, it is a pleasant scent, but among all these re-interpreted versions of the original, I prefer to stick to the classics. Anyway, the composition of this fragrance revolves around fruity and aquatic notes. The opening of Chrome Legend belongs to the blend of apple, aquatic note, orange, spices, tea and mate. After no more than 30 minutes, the mid development unveils the musky facet, in a combination of moss and musk. After a couple of hours, the heart notes dry down to a woody base, filled with cedar, vetiver, Tonka bean.
The bottle of Chrome Legend was designed by the long time partner of Azzaro Group, Federico Restrepo (designer of the original bottle as well), who employed smoothed shapes and a stopper that brings to mind the world of sailing. The transparent light blue shade of the glass is reminiscent of the sea, while this image is completed by the elegant metallic rim, made from the same material as the stopper. As described on the official website, Azzaro Chrome Legend is a “sleek fragrance with an unprecedented singular freshness”.
