Chrome (not the web browser developed by Google!) is a citrus aromatic fragrance introduced in 1996. The description on the official website mentions that “Chrome celebrates joie de vivre and genuine feelings, paying tribute to the unfailing complicity and the sharing of values that create a bond between father and son.”
The fragrance is built around the dominant musk and citrus accords, as a result being capable to offer a feeling a refreshment and energy. I tested Chrome four years after its release and although I must admit that is a well-behaved scent, I prefer the classic Azzaro Pour Homme. Chrome aims at combining the social and individual necessities of the individual, in an innovative scent that constitutes “the new freshness”.
Chrome opens with refreshing notes of lemon, petitgrain, rosemary and pineapple. The heart reveals the spicy floral character with accords of coriander, jasmine, cyclamen and orris. The base notes encompass a touch of tea, combined with cedarwood, moss, Tonka bean and musk.
The fragrance was presented in a bottle that has a square shape with smoothed rims for an easy handling. The transparent glass reveals a liquid with a Mediterranean steel-blue color and is topped by a silver colored stopper with a rectangular shape. The video commercial speaks about the family relationship between a father and his son, while the chromatic matches the blue nuance of the perfume. Overall, Chrome is a pleasant scent that could represent an escape from the daily routine.
