Pur Blanca was introduced by Avon in 2003, as a floral woody musk feminine fragrance. Like many of the Avon fragrances (no offense taken I hope, simply being pragmatic!), this scent does not pretends to be a glamorous perfume, simply the type of perfume that you receive when you disburse a limited amount of cash. It seems that Pur Blanca was quite popular, because since then Avon has produced two flankers: 2008’s Pur Blanca Blush and 2010’s Pur Blanca Blossom. But then again, Avon is reputed for having a lot of perfumes on the market.
Pur Blanca is intended as a mass market response to the luxury fragrances like Bvlgari BLV and more popular (read “easy to buy”!) Cacharel Noa, CK Be, Contradiction Calvin Klein. The whole structure of the perfume is filled with floral accords and woody-musky notes in the dry down.
Pur Blanca starts off with a mixture of water mint, ylang-ylang and freesia. Then, as the fragrance moves ahead into the mid development phase, a heady aroma of white rose is perceived, juxtaposed to a blend of white lily and peony. The base notes is the moment in which the perfume turns to something more profound, thanks to the combination of sandalwood, white musk and heliotrope.
The bottle that holds Pur Blanca has a cylindrical shape and is made from transparent glass, which reveals a colorless liquid that brings to mind instantly the purity of water. Overall, Pur Blanca is an un-pretentious perfume for a woman who does not have high aspirations in her life.
