I’m sure you have at least one perfume that you find unbearable. In my personal list, the number one spot belongs (until now!) to Avon Jet Femme. This fragrance was launched in 2009, alongside its masculine counterpart Jet Homme and belongs to the floral fruity olfactory group, being developed with an overdosed aroma of watermelon that makes you literally run.
I have nothing against Avon scents, in fact there are a couple of those quite remarkable (Outspoken Intense by Fergie), but Jet Femme is something that I can not stand around my nose. The fragrance is reportedly geared at the woman who loves outdoor life, sun and parties, as you can see from the video commercial; however in my opinion this type of woman would be better off this scent.
The construction of Jet Femme does not bring novelties to the olfactory department. The scent starts off with a pungent dose of watermelon, juxtaposed by notes of pepper, guava and grapefruit. Normally, I do not mind the fruity accords, but in this case the dominant tone is so annoying that you will wish for a quick vanishing. Then, as the scent reaches mid development, a blend of jasmine and hibiscus is unveiled, which is quite OK. Much later, in the dry down, the classical amber is combined with white musk, iris and woodsy notes.
Jet Femme is not boring for me, it’s extremely unpleasant and if you happen to like it or you have a different opinion, I invite you to share it in here.
