Another perfume in this year series of sport-related fragrances, Armani Code Sport Athlete was presented by Giorgio Armani in May 2012, as a flanker to 2011’s Armani Code Sport, at its turn a flanker to 2004’s Armani Code. Reportedly imagined as a celebration for London 2012 Olympic Games and rendering a tribute to “sporting heroes”, Armani Code Sport Athlete is citrus aromatic that comes in limited edition.
The first perfume presented by the Italian fashion house with the name Code was Armani Code (back then, it was called Black Code) and this one of the few perfumes in my wardrobe acquired without sniffing it first, but sadly, the line extension, Code Sport seemed boring from one end to the other. Therefore, you imagine that I wanted to encounter in Armani Code Sport Athlete the magic once perceived in the original. Sadly, this was not the case, given that this perfume is nothing more than a well-behaved type of scent.
The listed notes include incense is the base, and it must have been only a hint from these wonderful accords, because I was not able to detect it. After an impetuous citrus finish, Armani Code Sport Athlete settles down to a spicy heart and later to a more than subtle woody dry down that is not capable to generate a strong emotion. Armani Code Sport Athlete top notes are: citrus, bergamot and tangerine; its heart is ginger, pink peppercorn and mint; its base notes are woods, ambrox, vetiver and incense.
The flacon that contains Armani Code Sport Athlete is replicating the shape of Armani Code, except this time the bottle is transparent and topped by a silver stopper.
