Considering only the fact that Armani Code is the perfume with the most rapid acquisition time from my collection (I bought it in less that one week subsequent to its launch!), and the scent appear to be something. I remember that back in 2004, my bottle had Armani Black Code printed on, because this was the official name at that time. Today, apart from the fact that its initial name was compressed the brand gathers more exposure due to the association with the insipid actress Megan Fox, one of the contemporary’s favorites.
The winner of FiFi Award Fragrance of the Year Men’s Luxe, Armani Code belongs to the oriental spicy olfactory group and was developed by a trio of perfumers: Antoine Lie, Antoine Maisondieu and Clement Gavarry. Distinctive for being the first oriental scent from Armani dedicated to men, this fragrance was one my dearest throughout the years, even though if I would be offered the chance to buy it again, I would most likely pass.
The construction of Armani Code follows a simple recipe in which only a few ingredients are employed to generate a maximum effect. The beginning is a heady blend of bergamot and lemon. Later, as the scent becomes to age, you will detect the heart, with its combination of star anise and olive blossom. For the final part, there is an exquisite choice of leather and tobacco which confers the scent a sensual facet perceivable in the extreme dry down.
Armani Code comes in a cylindrical shaped bottle, made from a semi-opaque glass. The rounded curves are evoking the design of Armani Mania, while the black matte cap is complementary to the polished glass.
