Transmitting its clear intention with the chosen name, this perfume represents Giorgio Armani’s attempt to invent another iconic scent. Given that the house did not experienced any notable success in the men’s department since the 1996’s Acqua di Gio (except maybe, Armani Code from 2004), something got to give. The result: in 2007 Armani Attitude is introduced. This fragrance is an oriental fougere, developed by a trio of perfumers: Annick Menardo, Alberto Morillas and Olivier Cresp.
The description on Giorgio Armani website mentions “elegance coupled with masculinity, strength combined with sensuality, the signature fragrance of a man you won’t forget”, however my first contact with Armani Attitude was not an unforgettable experience. Tested right after its launch, the explanation might probably be due to the bottle, (I find it unacceptable), because I like perfectly cut shapes (read Baldessarini bottles!), perhaps the aroma, I don’t know, the fact is that I reached to one conclusion: Armani Attitude was not for my taste.
Armani Attitude has a construction that follows the usual perfume pyramid; the opening comes with a mixture of coffee and Sicilian lemon. It smelled OK on my skin, but I had the sensation that something was missing. The middle notes features accords of lavender and cardamom; in my opinion the lavender would have been more useful in the dry down. And the trail offers a combination of cedar, opoponax, patchouli and warm amber.
As mentioned earlier, the bottle of Armani Attitude did not convince me: the shape of cigarette lighter does not go with my style (I don’t smoke). Moreover, the advertisement with the typical Italian wants to lead you into thinking that this will fit to your image, once you buy the perfume. Sadly, this is one more fragrance that will be sold by the brand behind its name.
