Anais Anais is a classic fragrance, the first perfume launched by Cacharel, which arrived on the market in the year 1978. This floral feminine fragrance was developed by 4 perfumers: Roger Pellegrino, Robert Gonnon, Paul Leget and Raymond Chaillain. The description from the official website mentions that Anais Anais is “delicate and ultra-feminine” and with respect to its olfactory structure the scent may be easily called a flower symphony.
I sniffed Anais Anais for the first time back in 2001 and I was impressed by its intense floral character. The ingredients employed for shaping this fragrance were employed with a great variety. Anais Anais’s top notes are orange blossom, hyacinth, honeysuckle, galbanum, lavender, citruses, bergamot, lemon, white lily and black currant; its heart is iris, tuberose, carnation, Moroccan jasmine, Pomegranate blossom, orris root, Lily-of-the-Valley, ylang-ylang and Rose; its base is white musk, patchouli, amber, sandalwood, leather, cedar, incense, vetiver and oakmoss.
Anais Anais exudes classicism through all its pores, starting with the simple bottle that exhibits elegant lines and a delicate floral pattern, the simplicity of the packaging box and its name that brings to mind a feminine presence. In fact, Anais is a feminine name, being the Provençal and Catalan form of Anna. The face selected for embodying the scent in the advertising campaign is the English supermodel Kate Moss, who appears in a short film that emphasizes on nature, freedom and the pleasure to be a woman.
