Thierry Mugler has always succeeded in creating a supernatural image around his creations and this one makes no difference. Alien is an oriental woody fragrance for women, launched in 2005 by the House of Thierry Mugler and developed by the perfumers Dominique Ropion and Laurent Bruyere. Probably this scent is best described on the official website, in which we can read about “The Myth of the Alien sun goddess” because “Thierry Mugler leads us towards a femininity derived from a world infused with bliss and spirituality, at the crossroads between what is real and extraordinary. A world inundated with a salutary aura where everything is refinement, sophistication and abundance.” And moving on into this line, it’s no coincidence that Alien was launched 13 years after the legendary Angel, because the perfume aims to, at least the comparable success of its predecessor.
Alien was built on 3 simple notes, but the result is spectacular. The opening reveals the delicate floral scent of sunny Indian jasmine, the mid development contains woodsy notes which slowly fade away and are replaced by the warm white amber in the dry down. And although the jasmine is the dominant notes, the smell of amber confers character to this fragrance.
The presentation features a bottle that reminds of a talisman from a far, far away civilization, a sensation that is amplified by the deep violet color of the bottle and the name of the perfume carved on the bottle in a way that replicates the mirror reflection of the word “Alien”. The fragrance is available in a huge range that includes: 30 and 60 ml Eau de Parfum Spray, 30 and 60 Eau de Parfum Refillable Spray, 30 and 60 Eau De Toilette Spray, 50 ml Deodorant Roll-On, 100 ml Deodorant Spray, 200 ml Shower Gel, 200 ml Body Lotion and 200 ml Body Cream.
The lasting power is above average (more than 10 hours) and the sillage is excellent. Ideal for special occasions and evening wear, Alien is a sophisticated perfume for an exceptional woman that instantly draws attention.
