The Italian fashion designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua established his own label in 1995, with the declared intention to present menswear and womenswear collection for the fashion weeks held in Milan. This young designer (born in Naples, Italy in 1962!), worked in the beginning with Gianni Versace, then for the Swiss house Bally (famous for its handmade shoes) and the lingerie company La Perla; he is extremely appreciated by American stars like Winona Ryder, Gwyneth Paltrow or Iman and launched its first perfume in 2001, called Alessandro Dell’Acqua for women.
The line of perfumes from this house are not so easy to find these days (there was a time when you were able to find them in Sephora), yet I could test his first and only (until now!) creation for men in 2004. Alessandro Dell’Acqua Man is an aromatic fragrance introduced in 2003 and represents the type of clean citrus fresh that does not blow your mind, however pleasant to wear it from time to time.
Alessandro Dell’Acqua Man begins with a citrus floral mix of lemon, bergamot, grapefruit, Mandarin orange, pineapple and orange blossom. The first experience feels refreshing and you are prepared for the next phase. The heart represents a combination of flowers and spices, from Bourbon geranium, clary sage, Indonesian carnation and Indian jasmine, placed alongside Guatemalan Cardamon for obtaining a contrasting effect. Finally, for the base, the creators have selected only precious ingredients coming from Cashmere wood, musk, sandalwood and cedar. Throughout all three phases you are confronted with pleasing sensations that convince you to ask for more.
The bottle of this perfume is quite atypical, with the thick rounded glass, almost circular at some points placed beside the elegance of the upper part, in which the brown color of this assemble and the stopper shape an interesting image.
Alessandro Dell’Acqua Man constitutes an interesting fragrance for the winter period of the year, when the temperature drops and you feel compelled to invigorate your senses with a couple of citruses.
