In spite of the fact that Acqua di Gio Woman was launched one year before its masculine counterpart, it did not managed to replicate the huge capital of popularity achieved by the male version. Arrived on the market in 1995, this scent belongs to the floral fruity olfactory group and was developed by Alberto Morillas. As a fragrance that was inspired by Giorgio Armany’s vacations in the Pantelleria Island, located in the Strait of Sicily, within Mediterranean Sea, everything about it evokes the summer breeze and the feeling of tranquility. This is the idel perfume for the idle days of the summer, when you can feel unbound by anything.
I sniffed the fragrance 9 years ago, right after sampling its masculine version and the sensation was that of a comfortable, easy to wear perfume. Acqua di Gio Woman is built around floral accords that are perfectly balanced by the aquatic notes, to leave you a delight impression on the olfactory senses.
Acqua di Gio Woman begins with a blend of lemon, banana leaf, peach, peach, violet, musk vodka, pineapple and peony. The peony and musk vodka found here are composing a strong dominant note that accompanies the scent during its entire development stage. In the mid development, a combination of Lily-of-the-Valley, Ylang-ylang, hyacinth, jasmine and freesia was employed. And finally, the dry down reveals a warm feeling obtained from styrax, cedar, white musk, amber and sandalwood. This warm base brings to mind the warm Mediterranean personality.
The round shapes of the bottle coupled with the frozen glass colored in soft green constitute an interesting image, responsible for the natural character of the perfume. Overall, Acqua di Gio Woman is a clean floral fragrance, which will appeal to the woman described by authenticity.
