Arrived on the market at the beginning of 2007, Absolute Givenchy is a travel retail exclusive fragrance, belonging to the floral fruity olfactory group. The official description mentions the phrase: ”young and fresh, both elegant and sparkling, the Givenchy woman is an absolute admirer of the brand… She is ‘Absolute Givenchy’ ”, and from that it is obvious that this limited edition scent is geared at a more young audience, compared to the usual pool of Givenchy feminine clientele.
The flacon that holds Absolute Givenchy is quite similar to 2006’s Lovely Prism, with a rectangular shaped flask topped by a stopper with pyramidal form. The color for the liquid is yellow, while the cap comes in matching pink shade.
From the multitude of launches in a year, Absolute Givenchy comes as a well-behaved type of scent, ideal for a young woman. I managed to encounter this perfume 4 years ago, while I was travelling and I was intrigued by its dominant aroma of apple, heightened by a concoction in which passion fruit was also available. The opening in Absolute Givenchy is quite interesting, too bad it is followed by a mid development in which everything becomes a little dull, and in the end, the musky aroma is saving the situation. The listed notes for Absolute Givenchy includes: apple, passion fruit, sweet pea, musk and woodsy accords. The scent exhibits a moderate lasting power and a minimal sillage.
Compared to other perfumes from the French house, I’ll say that Absolute Givenchy is interesting purely by its association with a famous brand, less due to some innovative composition in perfumery.
