Fragrance Review

One of the most acclaimed (if not the most!) and certainly the best seller perfume for men from is 1 Million. It is a quite odd that this relatively new woody introduced in 2008 and developed by the three perfumers Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux and became a classic already (at least in sales, if not in quality!) but let’s not forget that it is the worth of , who knew exactly was the public was looking for, and delivered the product accordingly. And it seems that the clients adore 1 Million and keep buying more, because after 3 years it is still on top of perfume sales in every store.

For me, the word that I associated with the image of 1 Million is repulsive. It’s probably me, but do take into account that usually, my opinion begins with the bottle, and when I consider that there’s too much of something I pass. And this is precisely what the gold bar look-alike is doing in this case. It may not be on my must list, but it sure is the other people’s favorite.

And even if the ingredients could make up for the presentation, the sensation of platitude remains. The listed notes of 1 Million are: blood orange, , mint, rose, , patchouli, , leather and amber. I’m not saying that the fragrance smells bad, but somehow I found it linear and the entire time I had a sensation of déjà-vu.

Available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette Spray and accompanying products in the range, such as: 150 ml Deodorant Spray, 75 ml Deodorant Stick, 150 ml Shower Gel, 75 ml After-Shave Balm and 100 ml After-Shave Lotion, 1 Million has an average lasting power (6 to 10 hours) and decent sillage. If you want to spend more, there is also the 18 carats , created by the designer Noe Duchaufour-Lawrence, which comes in a very luxurious package, manufactured from golden body with a diamond crown, in which the bottle is in 100 ml and can be re-filled.

I believe that 1 Million from Paco Rabanne represents the perfect fragrance for the new generation of consumers, who likes the tacky products, since I imagine they are able to dissimulate better their shallowness underneath the flashy products. But hey, don’t get swayed by me on this one, since it’s my personal opinion and it certainly is subjective. Still, 1 Million is a great fragrance which is very well marketed and deserves your attention.

  1. I do not like this scent and for me this represents a good method to make a first impression about a guy. Think in terms of this: 1 Million says bad taste in perfumes.
